Frequently Asked Questions

What does Schnäkeria mean?
Schnäking is an expression indigenous to the Trier region in Germany. It means go out chocolate eating late at night. We had been doing a lot of schnäking back in the days and in fact, that is how we came up with the idea of the Schnäkeria Whisky Pralines which nowadays are of course available at any time so you can go schnäking around the clock.
How are our liquor-filled pralines different than the rest?
We don't sell liquor-filled chocolates. We offer ultimate, unique, one-of-a-kind experience to taste exquisite exclusive fine rare liquors, which we infused in the silkiest chocolate pralines made from the finest cocoa beans. In other words, we marry the best whisky with the finest chocolate to make exquisite exclusive fine rare liquor-filled pralines. The liquor in the heart of our pralines is what makes our chocolates special. We infuse our pralines with rare and fine liquors, the types that are difficult and almost impossible to find. Some of the whiskies we use are no longer available on the market at all. All the liquors we use are most exclusive, unique, limited edition, collectors' grade, special and rare. We go to great lengths to find them. Often, people who know what we do, bring us some bottles, sometimes even partially finished, of super exclusive drams and we immediately use those to make a batch of pralines. By marrying those rare liquores with the finest chocolate, we bring you the best of both worlds in a unique, exclusive, one-of-a-kind package - our exclusive fine rare liquors filled pralines. We know you are exceptional -- that's why we think your chocolates should be too!
Where can I buy your pralines?
Sometimes, you can see our stand in an exhibition, others - at a gourmet marketplace or a retailer. We often travel to showcase our unique pralines here and there. So while there is sometimes a limited selection available at our factory, the best way to buy a box of pralines is thru our online store, or by contacting us.
Do I need to be of a certain age to be able to place an order?
Yes. The recipient must be 18 years of age or older and must be there to sign for the delivery. Because of the nature of the products we sell, we must make sure that the recipient is at least 18 years old. If the legal drinking age in your country is different than 18, then that is the minimum age the recipient should be.
What is the Schnäk Club?
Schnäk Club is a group of spirits enthusiasts, inspired by the unique experiences found in every dram of fine liquor, amplified by the delectable work of art of fine chocolate. It's all those of our customers who love our products and have signed up to get a box of them monthly. We forage the world of the most exclusive, fine, and rare liquors, we find the most unique expressions out there, marry the best whisky with the finest chocolate to make exquisite exclusive fine rare liquor-filled pralines, and pack it all into our exclusive Members Schnäk Club. Our memberships allow you to get a front row seat to all our exclusive releases, the privilege to get notified first when we do a release plus get monthly tasting boxes and free shipping on selected purchases.
Are you associated with any of the whiskies or liquors that you use for your pralines?
No we are not! We have no association, nor endorse in any specific way the liquors that we use in our pralines. We are not associated in any ways with the distilleries or makers of the whiskies and liquors that we use. The bottles that we use for our pralines come from private collectors and have been shared with us personally and without prejudice by them.
Which countries do you ship to?
We can ship your order to almost every country in the world. However, deliveries to some countries may incur duties, taxes and fees which cannot be calculated upfront and as such are not included in the total price you pay in our store and are buyers' responsibility.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal and bank payments. You can select your preferred method of payment at checkout.
I don't want to give my card details online. Can I still order?
Yes. You can order over the phone. Please contact us to make a phone order.
What happens if my parcel is damaged when it arrives?
In the highly unlikely event that your parcel is damaged, or shows signs of having been tampered with, you should refuse to sign for it and have it returned to us. You should contact us immediately if this happens. If you sign for your parcel and subsequently find that something inside is damaged, please take photos of the damaged box and contents and send them to us so we can work out the best way to go about it.
Can I return my order?
Orders that are not damaged can still be returned to us but only in their original unopened packaging. Upon receiving the package back, we will issue a refund. We cannot refund shipping costs.
How long will delivery take?
We usually ship your order within 1-2 days after it has been received. The delivery times depend entirely on your local postal service. On average that takes another day or two for deliveries in the EU and about 5 days for international deliveries.

All transactions made on our website are secure and are done over a 256-bit SSL secure connection. In addition, we do not store any of your data on our servers -- it is all processed by the credit card processors we use (Stripe and PayPal).
